1995-2003
Bildung collects forty double portraits of young boys and girls. For several years I taught Photography at various technical schools in the suburbs of Milan, where I used to take pictures of my students on the first day of classes - when the teacher introduces him or herself to the class - and at the end of the school year, right after the school-leaving examination. Each diptych shows a student on his/her first and last day at school, spanning a period of three to five years. Growing up, the time elapsed between the beginning and end of adolescence, between the beginning and end of the school year.
